An exciting first day at the EPT in Prague!
Rolf Slotboom was one of the first big players that had left the building when his kings didn’t hold up against AQ. Day 1A started with 272 players, and stopt with only 88 players left. We’ve got all the highlights for you!
Rolf Slotboom, who is known to be very tight in de first levels of a tournament, was left over with just a single $50 chip! You all know the story “a chip and a chair”, but not today for Slotboom. Here’s what happend:
Rolf Slotboom was holding KxKx on a 9xAx8x flop. His opponent went all-in, and Rolf Slotboom didn’t believe that his opponent had an Ace. Too bad for Slotboom, his opponent was holding AxQx!
Last year winner, Arnoud Mattern was also eliminated quite early in the tournament. Mattern had a lot of outs on the turn, while holding AsJs, and the board was 9d5s3d10s, His opponent had QdTd, so it was a close one. The river was a brick and the champ was out.
After a few hours of play, Gaspare Triolo is chipleader with a great stack of 60.5k!
Luca Pagona was eliminated after about 6 hours, we will see him next EPT again I think. Later on, Gus “The Great Dane” Hansen, wasn’t able to build up his stack, he has been eliminated.
At the end of day 1A, Luduvic Lacay is the chipleader with 94.200 chips. The player with the least chips is Massimilano Patroncini, he is playing 6.800 chips.
We will have another update scheduled for tomorrow, day 1B. There will be a lot of great playing tomorrow, we will keep you updated!
